It was a quiet New Years day spent filling a new planner up with various goals and projects for the upcoming month. I wanted to get them all down on paper and try to get a better sense of what I am trying to accomplish. So instead of having a list of resolutions to share I am still working on mine, excited that Match Day is only two and a half months away, and that there is 6 months left before we move.
We didn't dress up or dance in this new year, but instead snuggled up on the couch and listened to the radio. I love the restful calm of being at home.
Right before the big countdown Trent filled two little red glasses with champagne and I sliced up the avocados for the Texas Caviar. It was the first time either of us had tried the recipe and it was delicious.
The perfect New Year black eyed peas recipe for us.
Trent wanted to watch a countdown since they weren't doing one on the radio, (and since I made him promise no Ryan Seacrest),
we rang in the New Year with Coldplay on PBS.

I'm not sure why but Chris Martin's voice always cheers me up.

"I love the restful calm of being at home" ... oh my, this sounds so familiar to me, I could have written this myself ! (ahah)

Sonia,
I think that's so true. Trent and I haven't gotten to spend much time together since he started medical school, so it's been really great to have this time at home together.
I have really been enjoying following your blog and getting the glimpses of your family/home. One of my goals (Again!) this year is to learn to type. I'm such a slow typer it takes me so much time to leave/reply to comments it's ridiculous!
Much love to you,
Barbara
